Public’s Help Sought to Locate a Wanted Fugitive
The Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office is asking for the public’s help to locate 37-year-old Hector Carranza, who removed his electronic monitoring bracelet and has not been located.
Carranza, a former Gresham Police Department Police Officer, was previously indicted by a Multnomah County Grand Jury on four counts of Rape in the Third Degree, 12 counts of Sodomy in the Third Degree, 24 counts of Sex Abuse in the Second Degree, five counts of Using a Child in Display of Sexually Explicit Conduct, five counts of Encouraging Child Sexual Abuse in the second degree, five counts of Luring a Minor and one count of Attempting to Use a Child in Display of Sexually Explicit Conduct.
After Carranza’s arrest and arraignment in August 2025, he posted bail and was placed on electronic monitoring.
Carranza removed his electronic monitoring bracelet on or about Saturday March 21, 2026, and a warrant for his arrest was filed on Monday March 23, 2026, with nationwide extradition.
Law enforcement officials have been actively looking for Carranza but have not located him and are now asking for the public’s help. It is not believed Carranza is a present danger to the community.
Carranza is described as a male Hispanic, 6’00” tall, and 220 pounds. His Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office booking photo is being released in accordance with Oregon law.
